Dear All-Star Friends,

My parents gave me the greatest gift in life that anyone can ever give another person – they believed in me. It’s because of their encouragement and support that I was able to overcome the challenges I faced growing up, and achieve all that I’ve accomplished in my life.

Every child deserves someone who will encourage their hopes and dreams, stand by them through challenging times, and help them break down barriers so they can realize their potential. And I believe when we encourage young people to live up to their potential, it shines bright everywhere.

It’s because I believe so strongly in these things that I have chosen to put my support behind Big Brothers Big Sisters and the All-Stars For Kids campaign. There has never been a better time to invest in the future of our community! Right now, through All-Stars For Kids, mentoring champions Gary Nissen, Qualico, and PBA Land & Development are matching all donations, dollar for dollar, up to $160,000.

I ask you to think about who your mentors were growing up – it could have been a parent, a family member, a teacher, or a coach. Think about that person who really believed in you and stood by you, no matter what. Where would you be if you didn’t have that person in your life? Now, think about the hundreds of kids right here in our community who are waiting for that ‘someone’ to be there for them; kids who are dealing with challenges that no one should have to face alone.

We all have an important role to play in ensuring that young people in our community have the support they need to succeed. Together, we can empower Big Brothers Big Sisters to provide life-changing mentoring relationships for those kids who need them the most.

I hope that you will join me and my fellow All-Stars in helping to build a future where young people in our community are resilient and thriving. Please, donate to All-Stars For Kids today.

Sincerely,

Cheryl Bernard
